17.12.2010: World Cup in Engelberg - Triple Victory for Austria
Thomas Morgenstern won the first of three competitions in Engelberg this afternoon with a jump on 137 m and 134.4 points. The second place went to Andreas Kofler with 132.2 points. Wolfgang Loitzl achieved his first podium result of the season as third with 128.6 points.
The competition was decided after one round only, the final round had to be cancelled due to heavy snowfall.
Statements of the Top 3:
Thomas Morgenstern (AUT): “Ski jumping is really a lot of fun at the moment. I really enjoy being here in Engelberg. Now I have to relax and then it’ll hopefully go just as well tomorrow.“
Andreas Kofler (AUT): “My jump was really very good. At the landing I chose the safer option instead of a telemark. Under such conditions you might fall easily and I didn’t want to risk anything.”
Wolfgang Loitzl (AUT): “I’m very satisfied that I finally achieved such a good result. This is the right point in time to be among the best again.”
