01.12.2010: Kuopio - Larinto wins the Competition
Statements of the Top 3:
Ville Larinto (FIN): “It feels amazing. It was a difficult summer for me and had many problems but I worked hard for the winter. I'm a little bit surprised that I'm jumping so well and it gives me a lot of motivation for the next competitions. It’s great that two Finnish guys were the best today. It’s nice that Matti could do so well in his home town.”
Matti Hautamaeki (FIN): “We changed our training before this season. After my last season which was so bad, I was even not sure if I should continue, but when the new coach came and showed me his plans for this season I felt totally motivated again and ready to train at 100%. If I can stay in the Top 10 in next competitions I will be satisfied.”
Simon Ammann (SUI): “I was a bit surprised that I was in the lead after the first jump. This gave me more motivation for the second round. I didn't think that it would be so cold here in the North, so my body needed two days to adjust. I'm extremely happy about the results, but after two such good long jumps, it’s a bit difficult for me to understand that I was "only" third. But that’s how it is with that compensation points.”
Impressions from Kuopio are now online in the Galerie:
We also have our new Statistic Service for this Event,
The third and fourth events of the season will be in Lillehammer, Norway this weekend.

This was the Qualification:

In the Group of the best 11 Athletes of the World Cup Ranking Ville Larinto from Finnland did the best jump - 126 metres, followed by Adam Malysz from Poland (123,5 metres).
