06.02.2010: World Cup in WIllingen: Schlierenzauer wins
Schlierenzauer had a perfect take-off and showed the longest jump of the first round with 142.5 m although the jury reduced the inrun during the round. In the final round he jumped 137 m (273.7 points).
On the second place finished Anders Jacobsen (139/138,5m - 269 points) from Norway ahead of Michael Neumayer (140,5/141m - 264.5 points) from germany.
Statments:
Gregor Schlierenzauer: " I had problems with the binding. Thanks to god there was the emergency kit and somebody helped me to repair the binding. It was a big challenge to keep the concentration after this situation. The competition was a big motivation. Now i´m flying home and on monday i will fly to Vancouver".
Anders Jacobsen: "The second place makes me happy a few days before the olympics in Vancouver. I love the big hills and i´m feeling very good whenever i´m in Willingen. We will fight hard to win the FIS Team Tour overall tomorrow."
Michael Neumayer: "It was a perfect day for me and my second podium. The FIS Team Tour is really important for us with the competitions in Oberstdorf, Klingenthal and Willingen. Willingen is the best of the three sites. Tomorrow we will jump with our strongest team and we want to be on the podium."
