29.01.2010: World Cup in Oberstdorf: Jacobsen wins

Anders Jacobsen of Norway won a ski flying World Cup event Sunday for his first victory in nearly two years.

Jacobsen soared 213.5 and 210 metres to collect 426.7 points. The Norwegian last won in February 2008.

Robert Kranjec of Slovenia took second with 418.1 points from jumps of 202.5 and 214 metres. Johan Remen Evensen of Norway was third with 416.2 points after the longest jump of the day at 217.5 metres and another of 200.5.

Andreas Kofler of Austria crashed heavily but was not seriously injured.

Kranjec won the sky flying title with 260 points.

Statements:

Anders Jacobsen (NOR): "The training and also the competition today went really well for me. Actually I jumped well in trainings the whole season, but in the competitions I was trying too. This victory gives me self-confidence and so I hope that it’ll be easier to continue like that. It was nice to hear the Norwegian anthem today and not always the Austrian. I think the new rules are really good. It’s still tested, but it’s working. All in all the competition is more fun, for the spectators and also for us as athletes.”

Robert Kranjec (SLO): "I had no bad feeling because of my fall yesterday, actually it was normal. Maybe that’s because I always had to deal with such situations, also in training. I was still happy about my jump on 226 m. Tomorrow I’ll travel to Klingenthal and want to have some good training jumps there. After Klingenthal I’ll return to prepare for the Olympics.”

Johan Remen Evensen (NOR): "I’m really very happy today. My jumps were unbelievably good. It was a great day for the Norwegian team and the best preparation for the Olympics. I’ll go back to Norway now to train there for a couple of days then and return to the Team Tour for Willingen.”

Morgenstern
Klingenthal lässt er fix aus, was danach kommt, wird man sehen. Ich denke, dass er in Willingen wieder einsteigt.
